Make Do and Mend
This year, because of COVID, we are working differently in school. We have to put up with lots more rules and restrictions. This project is about how artists use rules and restrictions to help them become more creative. We can learn a lot from looking at the way they work.
Hannah Höch collage analysis
In this photograph I can see some hair and a woman's body, a wheel a lightbulb and a persons head, there is also a clock and a face. The part that strikes me the most is the head in the corner because of the colour and how its not dark and gloomy like the other images that are in the collage, although none of the images in the collage make sense to me the face is the most intriguing not only because of the colouring but also because of how its deformed. The second type of picture I would say is related to cars and mechanic pieces just because I can see the BMW logo and a tyre .
I feel the title doesn’t really make sense to us a viewers but only to the photographer which I feel is quite interesting in the way that we have to guess why she's chosen this title. The adjective I would use to describe this image is:

- dysfunctional - because it breaks down our idea of normal and how images should look.

Prison Photography

One thing that interests me about the film is the way Klavdij Sluban doesn’t judge the prisoners or tell them how and what to do when photographing the prison. I also like how he pushes them to widen their imagination and it can also give them a sense of freedom which they have lacked while in prison. I also like how he doesn’t use his advantages to try and control the prisoners and how they may want to photograph parts of the prison.I find it interesting how he questions the prisoners after they tell him there’s nothing to photograph and instead of giving them examples of things to photograph he tells them to photograph the nothingness, I think this gave the project more meaning and made it more personal for the prisoners .

Nicoló Digiorgis' Prison PhotographyOne thing that interests me about the book is the fact that apart from the first picture it’s not clear that they were taken inside of a prison. I think that can be seen as very controversial because of how we would label prisoners on the way they look etc. I also find it interesting how all of the images are in black and white and I can’t think of a reason why the artist may have done this so the images also leave me with unanswered questions.
